Man Caught With Heroin, Crack, Cocaine In Foot Chase On Main Street In Danbury

A man who jumped through a window, sending glass flying, and running from police, was nabbed with drugs following a foot chase.

Jose A. Ramos, 31, of Hartford, was arrested on numerous charged Friday around 7:30 p.m., Friday, by Danbury Police, said the Danbury Police Department.

The incident began around 7:10 p.m. when Danbury officers were conducting an investigation on Spring Street regarding a violent crime that occurred earlier in the week. While detectives were attempting to speak with people inside a residence, Ramos jumped out the window and ran away from detectives, police said.

 During the foot pursuit, detectives saw Ramos discard a plastic bag in the Auto Zone parking lot, at 336 Main Street. Ramos was arrested in the parking lot near Main Street. 

The plastic bag contained two grams of marijuana, eight bags of cocaine, six bags of crack cocaine, and 69 glass folds of heroin, and additional bags of cocaine were found in Ramos’ sweatshirt pocket, along with $300 in cash, police said. 

Ramos was charged with three counts possession of a controlled substance, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of controlled substance with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school (three counts), two counts of narcotics within 1,500-feet of a school, possession of a marijuana, and interring with police.

He is being held on $250,000 bond.
